We are holding our 8th event of PostgreSQL User Group in partnership with 2ndQuadrant.
There will be live session with Gabriele Bartolini, who is a long time PostgreSQL community member, Project Leader of Barman and Head of support at 2ndQuadrant. Gabriele will be talking about backup strategies and disaster recovery systems that you can use to secure your critical PostgreSQL databases.
Gabriele will also be walking us through the following areas:
– System and Database requirements to use barman
– Principles (integration, usability, automation) and available features (remote and incremental backup & recovery, multiple servers, bi-modal WAL archiving, WAL compression, etc) of barman
– Backup types & scope
– Methods both for backup and recovery
– Relevant case studies

Gabriele is the Head of Global Support at 2ndQuadrant and managing director of the Italian office as well as an active member of the international PostgreSQL community and local ITPUG. His commitment is to consistently contribute to the growth of 2ndQuadrant and it’s members through nurturing a lean and devops culture. A long time open-source programmer and entrepreneur, Gabriele has a degree in Statistics from the University of Florence.
